Daikin India Contributes Towards

We, at Daikin, have always been at the forefront of inventing advanced technologies and working on initiatives that help towards building a better future. These efforts and initiatives have been acknowledged by the government of India and Japan, and this is evident with the recent developments.

Recently, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), India, concluded a Memorandum of Corporation on the Manufacturing Skill Transfer Promotion Programme (MOC). According to the MOC, METI certified vocational training institutes in India must be organized by four renowned Japanese companies as they would become the first four certified members of the Japan-India Institute for Manufacturing (JIM). On June 27, 2017, witnessed by Mr. Yosuke Takagi, State Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, and H.E. Mr. Sujan Romeshchandra Chinoy, Ambassador of India to Japan, METI granted certificates of accreditation to four companies, one of them being Daikin.

This accreditation is a matter of pride, as it makes us one of the four prestigious companies that is recognized for a highly notable cause. Not just that, it is also an honour for us to be deemed as the forerunner for ‘Skill India’ in the HVAC industry.

Our endeavor towards the ‘Skill India’ initiative by the Government of India, can be seen materializing, with an aim to work towards enhancing the quality of skilled labourers in India, by starting the first all-girls batch-DJIME (Daikin Japanese Institute of Manufacturing Excellence) at Neemrana. The batch is exclusively created for girls and focused towards their enhancement of knowledge and nurturing their talent. The programme is built to provide girls with equal opportunities amongst the rest and make them industry-ready. The training institute also provides a healthy work-life balance to the students.

Through training and stringent quality control measures, we, at Daikin, ensure compliance with the international quality checks and environmental management. We aim to serve the Indian market with locally manufactured products as much as possible. By reducing the supply lead-time and meeting market needs in terms of product specifications, we plan to strengthen our leadership on the Indian terrain as well as contribute continuously towards the Skill India Project.

Apart from providing equal opportunities to girls, the manufacturing facility at Neemrana also follows our global philosophy of being an organization committed towards the improvement of the environment. More than 50 percent of the open area is left as green area and 34 percent area is treated as a green area with trees and plantations. The facility at Neemrana also incorporates Daikin's global Environmental Management System (EMS) to promote adapting procedures for refrigerant handling, resource conservation & waste management.
